GIS lab Inauguration Ceremony at Central Statistics Office (CSO)(report)

On 20 November 2005 at 10:00hrs the opening ceremony of GIS Unit and Computer/English Language Courses organized by Afghanistan Information Management Service (AIMS) and Central Statistics Offices (CSO) took place. The ceremony was based on AIMS capacity building project and focused on mutual cooperation between AIMS and CSO of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. AIMS is a service providing organization that operates flexibly to meet the needs of key Ministries/Departments consistent with its mandate, namely to build information management capacity, providing equipments, training and advisory support with the ultimate goal of establishing GIS lab and Management Information Service (MIS) units in the Government of Afghanistan. The participants were Mr. Abdul Rashid Fakhri Deputy Minister for CSO, National Advisors, Head of Departments, Kenna Kelly AIMS Technical Manager, Golam Monowar kamal AIMS International Technical Advisor and Golam Jelani AIMS Liaison Officer.
