GIS lab Inauguration Ceremony at Kabul Municipality (KM)(report)
On 5th March 2006 at 10:00hrs opening ceremony of the GIS Unit took place organized by Afghanistan Information Management Service (AIMS) and Kabul Municipality (KM0. The formal procedure was based on AIMS capacity project and focused on joint cooperation between AIMS and KM of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. AIMS mandate is namely to build information management capacity, providing equipments, training and advisory support with the ultimate goal of establishing GIS lab and Management Information Service (MIS) units in the Government of Afghanistan. The participants were Mr. Ghulam Sakhi Noorzad, Mayor for Kabul Municipality, Mr. Niazi, Head of planning and policy dept for KM, Mohd Zaheer Rezaye, Head of Administration and Financial dept for KM, Abdul Satar Amini, Head of Internal Inspection Dept for KM, Mr. Neal Bratschun Program Manger for AIMS, Ghulam Jelani IRD Manager, Ali Wali GIS Specialist and Shahzad Aryobee Project Specialist for AIMS.
