GIS Labs in Ministries

AIMS, has a mandate to firstly build “Information Management Capacity” in the government of Afghanistan, and secondly to provide “Information Management Services” to the government and the development community. AIMS has also been facilitating the development of advanced GIS and mapping capability in Afghanistan, and therefore created 11 GIS labs within 11 government ministries and departments. These ministries and departments are able to print their own maps for planning and project implementation purposes. These government institutions were chosen based upon their need for GIS capacity building and services.
