AIMS coordinates with the Central Statistics Office and the Geodesy and Cartography Office of the government of Afghanistan. Currently these institutions are using a 32 Province, 329 District Administrative Boundary model. The shapefiles below conform to this model.

Due to storage and bandwidth limitations, AIMS is not able to provide digital data that exceeds 17 MB online. If you need those files that exceed 17MB, please visit our office in Kabul or E-mail AIMS about other means of delivery of the data.
